Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy has been prescribed to combat many diseases, including wound healing, diabetes, cancer and autism. We will discuss the development of hyperbaric oxygen therapy, how hyperbaric oxygen acts on the body and some theories on how the therapy gives beneficial effects.

It is estimated that around 10% of autistic children in the United States have used hyperbaric or mild hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Many professionals working in autism will have received enquiries about the treatment from parents, amid numerous testimonials of positive benefits. Some scientific studies have been conducted and studies have shown positive effects on behaviour and skill acquisition. We will also talk practically about the facilities available in the UAE and how hyperbaric oxygen chambers can be used in the clinic or home.
